Bobby Khullar started STS360 on March 26, 2005, after being laid off for the second time by companies he says 'showed utter disrespect for hard work and labor.' He promised himself he would build a business that respected its team, its culture and its clients, 'grounded in integrity, relationships, and doing things the right way.' The company he built, legally Sigma Surveillance, Inc. doing business as STS360, became a Texas public-sector specialist: state and local agencies, school districts, universities, transit and corrections, bought through DIR, BuyBoard and TIPS cooperative contracts that STS360 has held since 2010. It is a Texas HUB-certified business with a DPS Class B licence, and by its twentieth birthday it claimed more than 21,864 sites secured across the state. STS360 describes its history as three technology shifts survived: the move to IP cameras, the cloud, and now AI analytics. Its blog in 2025 walked school administrators through Alyssa's Law compliance, published a three-part guide to AI in physical security, and told the story of a mobile surveillance trailer that stopped a theft. Growth showed up in the numbers: the company made the Inc. 5000 list in 2012 and 2013 and again every year from 2022 to 2025, with a 2022 Inc. Regionals Southwest ranking. Khullar says the most rewarding part was 'watching the business grow beyond just me': building a team, creating opportunities for others, earning clients' trust. At the 20-year mark he credited 'the dedication of our team, the trust of our clients, and our commitment to continuous security innovation.' He framed the sale as the right next chapter for the people who built the business, the customers and vendors who trusted it, and for himself. From the first conversations, he says, Cobalt respected what made STS360 special, especially the team, and the deal gives employees room to grow and customers long-term stability while protecting the culture. 'On a personal level, it brings a deep sense of pride and relief knowing that the business is in thoughtful, capable hands.' Cobalt announced STS360 on February 19, 2026 as its 18th acquisition and first of 2026, describing a security integrator with 'dependable execution, long-standing customer relationships, and a people-first culture grounded in integrity and accountability,' and its third Dallas-area presence. The company page dates the acquisition to February 2026. No Cobalt executive is quoted.
