ABOUT CALDECOTT

Experience from
both sides of the table.

Building a business teaches you what the numbers cannot explain on their own. Preparing it for a buyer teaches you how to make those strengths visible.

Caldecott Partners brings those perspectives together to help founders sell their businesses. We research potential buyers, learn what they want, and connect those priorities to the strengths of your company.

MEET THE FOUNDER

An operator’s experience.
A buyer’s perspective.

Patrick Chown founded Safe and Sound Security in 2008 and exited in 2026. In 2024, he got serious about positioning the business for a potential sale and subsequently tripled the value of the business in three years.

His experience building a business and then learning to reshape it in the buyer’s image shapes Caldecott’s approach. He brings a particular focus to business positioning, financial analysis, and understanding how buyers think.

The lesson behind Caldecott is straightforward: the work you do before a transaction shapes the conversation you can have during it.

Understand before advising.

Start with how the business actually works: the people, customers, decisions, and economics that sustain it.

Make the story supportable.

Build a clear case from evidence. A compelling narrative should make the business easier to understand and easier to examine.

Keep the founder in the picture.

Price matters. So do the transition, the team, and the life you want after the deal. A good decision considers all of them.

A CLEAR PATH TO THE OTHER SIDE

A transition worth
thinking through.

A sale changes more than ownership. It changes your role, your routines, and your relationship with something you built. We help you prepare the business while staying attentive to the person making the decision.
